Bramayugam: Asif Ali’s Loss, Arjun Ashokan’s Gain

Bramayugam is talk of the town; though performances of all characters are applause-worthy, Arjun Ashokan“s Paanan seems to be the revelation.

Asif Ali, who supposed to play Paanan in Bramayugam had to forego the role due to prior movie commitments. He was locked in the script, but due to the preponement of the shooting for Bramayugam, the actor had to give up the role. The role, then, offered to Arjun Ashokan. After movie”s release, the young actor”s performance was praised by audience and critics alike.

In a an earlier interview with The New Indian Express, Asif Ali lauds Mammootty for playing the role of Koduman Potti in Bramayugam. The actor said that he never thought Mammootty will take the role and his judgment on the character is “unbelievable”. Bramayugam, a horror thriller delves into the politics of power and caste.

Besides, during the press meet of the movie Kasargold, Asif Ali said he is disappointed that he had to let go of the role. He really wanted to do the movie; however, assured then that Arjun Asokan”s character will be interesting. The actor also said he is happy that the role went to Arjun Ashokan. “The movie will definitely ensure Arjun Ashokan”s next level performance”, Asif Ali added.
