Deepika Padukone, who delivered a stellar performance in Nag Ashwin’s epic film, Kalki 2898 AD, has been away from the limelight since the birth of her daughter, Dua. But the wait is now over; the dazzling actress has now joined the cast of Prabhas‘s upcoming action entertainer, Spirit.

The rumors have come true. Deepika has signed on for the lead role in director Vanga’s upcoming film. As per reports, Spirit which was originally set to begin by the end of 2024, has been delayed due to various other factors. But fortunately, the film brought Prabhas and Deepika together once again to the big screen.

Deepika, who turned down the offer due to conflicting timelines caused by her pregnancy, has now joined the cast with a revised timeline. About the actress’s role in the film, her character holds deep layers, which truly impressed her to opt for the role.

Moreover, Deepika is also excited to collaborate with the Animal actor and was reportedly impressed by the script. Sprit will mark the reunion of Deepika and Prabhas after their successful collaboration in Kalki 2898 AD.

On the development front, Spirit is currently in its final scripting stage and the shooting is set to begin in October. Although the shoot was initially scheduled to start in January, it was later delayed due to an injury Prabhas sustained during the Fauji shooting.

Actor Prabhas is now focusing on his upcoming horror thriller, The Raja Saab. Produced by TG Vishwa Prasad under the banner of People’s Media Factory, the film will see music by Thaman. The movie, written and directed by Maruthi, will feature Prabhas, Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan, Sanjay Dutt, Anupam Kher, Murali Sharma, Jisshu Sengupta, Yogi Babu and others in crucial roles.

The film will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, and Hindi.
