The Big B of Bollywood, Amitabh Bachchan, with his recent tweet has confirmed reports about Abhishek Bachchan joining the cast of Shah Rukh Khan’s next big film, tentatively titled King.

Excitement over the reports claiming Abhishek entry in SRK‘s next has been making waves all over the internet. With the king of Bollywood and his daughter Suhana Khan on board, the upcoming directorial venture of Sujoy Ghosh is expected to make and break records.

In addition to this, Amitabh confirmed reports about his son and actor Abhishek joining the cast as he shared a post from one of Abhishek’s fans expressing excitement about seeing their favorite star pitted against King Khan. The Kalki 2898 AD star wrote, “all the best Abhishek .. It is TIME !!! (sic).”

On Monday,  reports speculated that Abhishek has been cast as the antagonist in King. While details about his villainous role are being kept under wraps, it is known that he will be portraying a complex character. Abhishek has excelled in negative shades in his previous works such as Raavan (2012) and Prime Video’s Breathe: Into The Shadows (2020). Details about the Jawan actor and Suhana‘s characters have also not yet been revealed.Shah Rukh Khan and Abhishek have worked together on Karan Johar’s Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna (2006) and their last collaboration, Happy New Year (2014), directed by Farah Khan. They have also made cameo appearances in each other’s projects, such as Abhishek in Om Shanti Om (2007) and SRK in a guest appearance in Players (2012).

According to sources, the film will feature some over-the-top action sequences directed by Siddharth Anand. With Anirudh Ravichander on board to compose the music, the film is expected to begin filming later this year and might hit screens in 2025. Although Suhana has already made her Bollywood debut with Zoya Akhtar’s Netflix film, The Archies, King will mark her debut on the big screen.
