Did Vijay Deverakonda Just Have A Narrow Escape From A Car Accident?
Tollywood star Vijay Deverakonda had a close brush with danger on Monday, October 6, when his luxury car met with an accident in Telangana’s Jogulamba Gadwal district.
According to reports by PTI, the actor fortunately escaped the mishap unhurt, though his high-end Lexus LM 350 AWD, worth over ₹2 crore, sustained visible damage.
The incident reportedly occurred as Deverakonda was returning to Hyderabad from Puttaparthi in Andhra Pradesh. Earlier that day, videos of the actor visiting the Maha Samadhi of Sri Sathya Sai Baba had surfaced online, indicating he was making his way back home when the collision happened.

As per initial information, another four-wheeler, believed to be a Bolero, suddenly swerved right, grazing Vijay’s Lexus from behind and causing minor damage to the vehicle. The other car sped away from the scene, leaving no trace. Deverakonda’s driver has since filed a police complaint, and local authorities have registered a case and initiated an investigation.
Following the accident, the actor reportedly left the site in a friend’s vehicle. Photos and videos showing the dented luxury car have gone viral across social media, sparking widespread concern among fans.
Later that night, Vijay Deverakonda took to his Instagram to reassure everyone of his safety. “All is well. The car took a hit, but we are all fine. Went and did a strength workout as well, and just got back home. My head hurts, but nothing a biryani and sleep will not fix. So, biggest hugs and my love to all of you. Don’t let the news stress you,” he wrote, adding a touch of trademark calm and humour.
The timing of the incident has drawn extra attention, coming just two days after reports of Deverakonda’s engagement to actor Rashmika Mandanna. Though the couple has not confirmed it publicly, sources have said that the private ceremony took place at his Hyderabad residence, attended only by close friends and family.
The beloved on-screen duo, known for their chemistry in ‘Geetha Govindam’ (2018) and ‘Dear Comrade’ (2019), had recently made joint appearances at international events like the 43rd India Day Parade in New York and the Bharat Beyond Borders event, fuelling ongoing speculation about their relationship.
