Suriya 46: Suriya-Venki Atluri's Next Launched With Grand Pooja Ceremony (Image-X/SitharaEnts)
As Suriya announced earlier, he has now collaborated with director Venki Atluri for his 46th film, tentatively titled Suriya 46. The film unites diverse talents like Suriya and Mamitha Baiju, and music composer GV Prakash was launched with a pooja ceremony in Hyderabad.
On May 19, Nag Vamsi’s Sitara Entertainment began the journey of Suriya’s upcoming film, scheduled to hit theatres in the summer of 2026. Followed by the pooja ceremony, the shooting of the film will begin at the end of May.
Even though more details about the cast and the crew are kept under wraps, Venky shared a few hints on what the audience could expect from the unique combo. About his directorial with the Retro actor, Venky said that the film will offer a gripping, intense cinematic experience with strong noir elements.

The director, known for blockbuster films like Vaathi and Lucky Baskhar, aims to offer a story with a Ghajini Sanjay-like Suriya, whose character will be layered and intense.
While officially announcing the project, Sithara Entertainments dropped some pictures of the pooja ceremony on its X handle. The film also marks the third collaboration between Venky and GV Prakash. The duo, who offered soulful compositions in their previous ventures like Vaathi and Lucky Baskhar, is expected to repeat the magic again in this project.

Suriya announced his collaboration with Venki during his Retro promotions in Hyderabad. In the event, the Retro star said, “As you’ve all been asking for a long time, my next Tamil film is with Venky, and I will be spending a lot of time in beautiful Hyderabad. We will start the shoot from May onwards.”
Notably, the event was also attended by Vijay Deverakonda. Recently, reports also suggested that the makers have roped in the Kingdom actor to share screen space with him. Even though there is no official confirmation from the team yet, the report validates the presence of Vijay at the pre-release event.
