“If Life Gives You Sonu…”: In Which Netizens Gave It Back To Sonu Nigam’s Comments On Dhruv Rathee (image-facebook/Sonu Nigam)
The internet has done it again. The latest controversy involves renowned singer Sonu Nigam, and popular YouTuber Dhruv Rathee, and netizens. The saga unfolded when Nigam took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to offer a critique of Rathee”s recent viral video questioning the state of democracy in India. However, instead of receiving applause, the singer found himself at the end of a gun that backfired badly.
It all started when Nigam tweeted, “If life gives you Dhruv make a Dhruv Jurel out of it not Dhruv Tatti,” in an apparent attempt to criticise Rathee”s views. Laden with wordplay, the tweet drew attention from social media users, but not in the way the singer might have hoped for.
