Dhruv Rathee Joins Prakash Raj, Abhijeet Dipke At CJP’s Bengaluru Protest Today

YouTuber and political commentator Dhruv Rathee is joining actor Prakash Raj and Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke at a protest in Bengaluru today, October 8.

The protest is being held at Freedom Park against the Election Commission’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The announcement was made by Prakash Raj, who, in a video posted on social media, described Rathee as a “special guest” at the protest and urged people to join the gathering.

The programme began at 10.30 am with a People’s Tribunal, where people from different parts of Karnataka are expected to share their experiences and concerns over changes in the voter list.

A symbolic ‘Chappal Protest’ is also part of the programme.

CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, spokesperson Saurav Das and co-convener Ashutosh Ranka are leading the protest. Prakash Raj is also taking part in the demonstration.

The protest is centred on the SIR voter-list revision and allegations that eligible voters have been wrongly removed from electoral rolls.

The CJP has demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and greater transparency in the electoral roll revision process.

The Bengaluru protest comes as part of the CJP’s wider campaign, following demonstrations in Mumbai and Delhi.

The group has also announced another protest at Jantar Mantar in Delhi on October 10.
