YouTuber Dhruv Rathee Detained At His Residence In Delhi Ahead Of Jantar Mantar Protest
New Delhi: YouTuber, social media influencer, and political-social activist Dhruv Rathee has been detained by Gurugram Police on Saturday morning. The police team reached Rathee’s residence in Kendriya Vihar society, Sector 56, Gurugram, ahead of the planned protest in Delhi.
According to the reports, the officials detained the Youtuber after he refused to comply with their instructions, Hindustan Times reported. The police were reportedly asking Rathee not to travel to Delhi to join the Jantar Mantar protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.
Around 50 policemen from Delhi Police landed at Rathee’s Gurugram home o Saturday morning and detained him. Rathee has come to join the the CJP protest. The CJP has demanded immediate release of the political activist.
Rathee had posted a video in his X account on Friday announcing his participation in the Saturday’s scheduled protest. The video had gained huge traction online. Rathee, with a vast following on digital media, is one of the staunch critic of the Narendra Modi government.

The Youtuber had arrived in India from Germany earlier this week and had joined the CJP protest in Bengaluru on October 8.
