'Knowingly Allowed Unfair Election': Priyanka Gandhi Demands Prosecution Of Chief Election Commissioner For Treason
New Delhi: Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday, September 24, for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar‘s criminal prosecution for treason. The Wayanad MP alleged that the chief election commissioner knowingly allowed unfair elections amid allegations of deleting 13 crore voters from rolls.
The Congress leader pointed the recent shocking revelation that Gyanesh Kumar made single handedly made orders despite 14 formal objections from two Election Commissioners over 10 months on issues like voter form changes and centralized data control during the Special Intensive Revision exercise.
Pointing out the alleged violation of the rules and norms, Priyanka said Election Commission countered that decisions were unanimous and followed procedures. Demands are being amplified for the immediate arrest and resignation of the chief election commissioner.
In a social media post, the Congress leader said that anybody who plays around with the democratic process of our elections is committing treason against this nation. “The Election Commissioner should be prosecuted for treason,” Priyanka wrote on X.
