In a recent interview with Anchor Rekha on ‘FTQ with Rekha Menon,” Suchitra, wife of Malayalam superstar Mohanlal revealed that their son Pranav Mohanlal has traded the glamour of showbiz for a simpler life on a farm in Spain.
Pranav, who made his acting debut as a child and later became a lead actor has now apparently found his true calling in farming. According to his mom, he’s currently participating in a “Work Away” program, where he works on a farm in exchange for food and accommodation.

Suchitra shared that Pranav values experiences over financial rewards and is enjoying tasks like caring for horses and goats. “He has his own ideas and follows what he believes is right,” she said.
Despite being new to the industry, Pranav has already faced comparisons to his legendary father. However, Suchitra accented, “Appu can never be Mohanlal.”
Earlier, she mentioned in several interviews that Pranav is more into nature and loves travelling. He doesn’t seem attracted to money, a posh life and other material things, even though he was born with a silver spoon.
Pranav‘s journey in the film industry began as a child actor in “Punarjani” (2003), earning him the Kerala State Film Award for Best Child Artist. He later assisted director Jeethu Joseph and debuted as a lead actor in “Aadhi” (2018), which became a hit. His Malayalam movie “Hridayam” by Vineeth Sreenivasan was also a blockbuster and has secured the Kerala State Award for the popular film category. In 2024, he acted in ‘Varshangalk Shesham” again by Vineeth Sreenivasan.
Pranav has also showcased his musical talents, writing, singing and performing the song “Gypsy Women” in Aadhi.
