Actor Ajith Kumar, who is gearing up for his upcoming anticipated release Vidaamuyarchi, reacted to the viral chants used to refer to the actor. This morning, he issued a bold statement against the growing “Kadavuley Ajithey” chants at public events and gatherings. Calling it “uncomfortable,” the actor requested to stop it immediately.

The slogan “Kadavuley Ajithey” went viral on the internet after a fan said it in a Youtube video. Soon, the chant was adapted by many AK fans in Tamil Nadu, who began using it in public spaces. Kadavule is a Tamil word that translates to God. Notably, over the last few months, this term has taken on a connotation on the internet.

Responding to the impacts created by the slogan, the Good Bad Ugly actor condemned the use of such slogans. In the press release, he requested his fans to restrain themselves from using it. The statement of the actor was posted by his manager, Suresh Chandra, this morning. It was shared with a caption that read, “From the Desk of AK.”

His statement read, “Of late, a certain factor has been disturbing me and in particular slogan, K….’, ‘Ajithey’ has been publicly recited at various events and public gatherings. I am uncomfortable with superlatives or any kind of prefix mentioned alongside my name. I prefer being addressed by my name or my initials.”

He further added, “I take this opportunity to request all those who indulge in this slogan shouting practise in public places to stop this with immediate effect & restrain themselves from doing so ever again. My sincere request to everyone is to work hard, play hard without hurting anyone, look after your respective families & be law abiding citizens (sic).” He signed off the note with ‘Live & Let Live.’

Ajith Kumar, in the past, has spoken up against using any kind of superlatives or prefixes for him. He issued a statement asking fans and others to stop addressing him as Thala and call him by his name, Ajith Kumar, or AK. Several years ago, he disbanded his fan association.

The actor has two projects lined up for release: Good Bad Ugly and Vidaamuyarchi. Recently the makers of Vidaamuyarchi surprised the fans by dropping an update. The actor who is practicing for his upcoming car race finally completed his dubbing sessions of the film in Baku, Azerbaijan. The film will be releasing as a 2025 Pongal treat to the audience.
