Trisha Krishnan has set the internet on fire with the latest Thug Life single, Sugar Baby. Reuniting with the ace director Mani Ratnam, the actress is expected to offer a surprise in the upcoming film.

Versatile Trisha is reuniting with Mani Ratnam after decades. Thug Life marks their third collaboration together. Trisha had first collaborated with Mani Ratnam in Aayutha Ezhuthu (2004) and then in Ponniyin Selvan (2022) franchise.
Thug Life marks her second collaboration with actor STR. The duo captured hearts with the Gautham Vasudev Menon’s, Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaayaa (VTV), and are now sharing the screen in the Mani Ratnam directorial. But as a plot twist, in Thug Life the actress was paired up with the legendary Kamal Haasan instead of STR.

While the audience was expecting a VTV reunion, the Thug Life trailer shocked the fans with something unexpected. However, the actress has hinted at something more about her character in the film. As a bold fashion statement, Trisha opted for a black attire to create a classy vibe.
While addressing the ongoing controversies on the age gap between her and Kamal, the actress said that it was too soon to judge. What was shown in the trailer is just a two-second clip from a two-and-a-half-hour-long film. Trisha also asked the viewers to wait for the film to unveil the mystery.
Speaking about her experience working with the legends of Tamil cinema, Kamal, Mani Ratnam and STR, she said that since she has known the two actors for several years, it was quite easy for her to work on this film. Trisha also added that she was so happy to work with her mentors like Kamal and Mani Ratnam once again.
The actress creates a perfect summer comfort outfit here with a lightweight saree with layered necklace, blending elegance and class.
Speaking of her character, Trisha revealed that it’s completely opposite to her character in Ponniyin Selvan. She shared that Mani Ratnam advised her to unlearn everything that she did during Ponniyin Selvan and to craft everything from scratch.
Trisha’s latest dance number, Sugar Baby, from Thug Life, created a huge sensation online. Composed by Oscar-winning composer A.R. Rahman, the song has received over 8 million views on YouTube within 2 days. The lyrics of the song were co-written by AR Rahman and Siva Ananth. Red is her colour!
Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life is a gangster story which revolves around the characters set in the world of crime. Unlike the typical gangster films, this Mani Ratnam’s project is expected to deal with the characters and their emotions, pushing the action sequences as the secondary element of the story.

Directed by Mani Ratnam, along with Trisha, the film features Kamal Haasan, STR, Abhirami, Joju George, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Sanya Malhotra, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Rohit Saraf, among others.
Trisha was last seen in Ajith Kumar’s action comedy film, Good Bad Ugly. Directed by Adhik Ravichandran, GBU emerged to be a blockbuster at the box office by grossing more than Rs 200 crore. The film opened to mixed reviews from critics who observed that it struggled to balance homages to Ajith’s previous films with storytelling.
