The Diplomat cast

With a talented ensemble cast featuring John Abraham, Saida Khateeb, Revathy, Ashwath Bhatt, Sharib Hashmi, Kumud Mishra, and Benjamin Gilani, the film sheds light on the intricate world of international negotiations and the individuals who work behind the scenes to uphold justice.

A political thriller

If you are curious to know what John Abraham will be offering in this political thriller, here is a description.

The film follows real-life Indian diplomat J. P. Singh. His world is turned upside down when Uzma Ahmed, a woman seeking refuge, arrives at the embassy. Uzma claims to be an Indian citizen who was abducted and forced to marry a Pakistani man. As tensions rise, Singh must navigate the complexities of international diplomacy, legal systems, and the pressure from both the Indian and Pakistani governments to resolve the matter.

CBFC Certification

On the CBFC certification front, the makers were instructed to add a disclaimer about the film stating that they support maintaining good relationships with the neighbouring countries. About the disclaimer, it said, “Since the film is inspired by a true incident, its portrayal of geopolitical tensions is dramatised and does not reflect the Indian government’s stance. The film is set in Pakistan. It was important to highlight this aspect since the two countries’ relations are a sensitive matter.”
