Junior Mehmood Reunites With Childhood Friends: Jeetendra And Sachin Visits (image-twitter/Jhajhajha)

Veteran actor Junior Mehmood best known for his films ‘Brahmachari’, ‘Mera Nam Joker’ and ‘Kati Patang’ , has been unfortunately diagnosed with stage- 4 stomach cancer. The actor expressed his desire to meet his childhood colleagues including Bollywood stalwart Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar.

The filmmaker Khalid Mohamed expressed Mehmood’s wish through his social media post in which he wrote, “Junior Mehmood, yesteryear”s adorable child star, is in hospital with 4th stage cancer. He has expressed his wish to meet Jeetendra whom he often co-starred with and childhood friend Sachin Pilgaonkar to visit him, please Jeetendra saab, Sachin ji grant him what could be his last wish.”  The post was shared along with a childhood of Junior Mehmood.

As soon as the message reached Jeetendra and Sachin Pilgaonkar, they came to visit him on Tuesday morning. He was also visited by comedy icon, Jhonny Lever. Jeetendra while speaking to Hindustan Times said, “I am here by his bedside, but he is unable to recognize me. He is so much in pain, he is unable to open his eyes”.

Junior Mehmood, originally known as Naeem Sayed, who began his career as a child artist later ventured into directing Marathi films. Junior Mehmood and Sachin shared a long history of friendship. The duo began their journey as child artists which extended into their adult days. They both left an indelible mark on the film industry.

Raju Shrestha, known as Master Raju, who has been regularly paying visit to the ailing actor, said that at the time he joined as a child actor, Junior Mehmood was already a big star. “He was such a big star and so busy that the producers had to wait for his dates to shoot. If he wasn’t available, they would use a duplicate because Junior Mehmood used to be busy with his shows,” he said. He then added that the producers would take the veteran actor’s date first before the lead actors, reports times of India.

While, Mehmood’s daughter Salaam Qazi told Bollywood Hungama about the current situation of the actor. She said that due to the increase in blood pressure and sugar level has led to severe weight loss but his condition has gotten much better.
