Actress Kajol is all set to offer a mythological horror film Maa, battling evil to awaken the goddess within. The first look and the release date of the film, finally announced today.

Directed by Vishal Furia and written by Saiwyn Quadras, Maa explores the timeless battle between good and evil, blending suspense and intense drama. With Kajol as a lead, the film also stars Ronit Roy, Indraneil Sengupta, and Kherin Sharma in pivotal roles.

Jio Studios and Devgn Films, the creators behind the blockbuster Shaitaan, are now presenting an extraordinary mythological horror with Kajol leading the battle against the evil.

As per the announcement, the mythological thriller will hit theaters on June 27. On announcing the release date, Ajay Devgn, one of the producers of the film, wrote, “Hell is here… so is the Goddess! Battle begins on 27th June 2025, in cinemas near you.”

In the motion poster, Kajol was seen holding a girl between good and evil forces. As a pan-Indian film, this directorial venture of Furia will be released in four languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Bengali.

Back in May 2024, Furia wrote a long note on wrapping up Maa while sharing a snap with Kajol. The filmmaker stated that he has completed his most ambitious endeavors up to this point. He also penned a long note expressing his gratitude towards the team. Referring to it as a gift of destiny, he wrote, “Sometimes destiny gifts you a project as it seems fit. “Maa” is one such project that came as a gift from the One above.”

The Do Patti star also has a number of projects in line, which include Kayoze Irani’s Sarzameen, alongside Ibrahim Ali Khan, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tota Roy Chowdhury, and Rajesh Sharma. She also has Charan Tej Uppalapati’s Maharagni (Queen of Queens) along with Prabhu Deva, Naseeruddin Shah, Samyuktha Menon, and Jisshu Sengupta in the making.
