Here is a delightful treat for 90s kids: the new chapter of the Karate Kid Saga, Karate Kid: Legends, is on the way to excite audiences. The film offers a reunion as it brings back some familiar faces, including Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio.
The franchise, known for its action adventures, nostalgic teachings, and morals, is back to train a new student. But this time, the franchise introduces Ben Wong as the student, Li Fong. With Jackie Chan returning as Mr. Han, Ralph Macchio takes up the role of Daniel LaRusso of the 1984 release.

The movie is said to link storylines from the original 1984 Karate Kid, the 2010 reboot with Jaden Smith, and the popular Netflix series Cobra Kai, as it follows the footsteps of its previous one. In the new Karate Kid installment, the kung fu master moves to New York after a family tragedy, struggling to adapt while trouble follows him. When a friend needs help, Li enters a karate competition but he must combine kung fu and karate under the guidance of Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso for for an epic showdown.
Bringing back the legacy to the screens, the trailer also delivers some nostalgic moments from the previous installments. And of course, Jackie Chan delivers some powerful punches.
Get ready to witness the reboot of Jackie Chan’s adventurous journey on May 30, 2025. Jonathan Entwistle will be directing the film with the screenplay by Rob Lieber.

Speaking about the Karate Kid: Legends’ connection with the previous films, director Jonathan Entwistle said, “Without giving too much away, I can say that Mr. Han and Mr. Miyagi are the connection to Daniel. The Han family and the Miyagi family are connected all the way back to the old times. And there is a mention of this within the Karate Kid movie canon for those people who want to go looking for it.”
