The year 2024 has been a year of expectations, especially for Spider-Man fans all over. But as the year nears its end, fans are expecting an update over the release of Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse. Here is a disappointing update on the final installment of the successful trilogy.
The Spider-Verse franchise has been one of the most beloved American animated superhero films. The entangled universe of Spider-Man began with the 2018 release, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, followed by the sequel Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse in 2023.
And the one thing that the entire world was buzzing about throughout the year is the final chapter, Spider-Man: Beyond The Spider-Verse. The sequel, which was initially scheduled to be released in March 2024, somehow lost track of its schedule and has been pushed forward.

Now that 2024 is nearing its end, reports claim that the sequel will not hit the screens until 2025. According to Deadline, Sony, one of the distributors of the film, gave a disappointing update on the release. The report mentions that Sony has no plans to release the sequel in 2025. But why?
Reports suggest that Sony is taking extra care of the quality of the product. The final product will be ready for its theatrical release only by 2026. Amidst this, reports also speculate on other possible reasons for the delay. Some claim “creative issues” as a factor for the delay and report that the makers are facing creative issues about the ending of the threequel.

Composer Pemberton cast doubt on the veracity of those reports and reportedly said, “Don’t really ever want to weigh in on this sort of stuff BUT would you ever believe there could sometimes be stuff on the internet that might not always be particularly accurate?” His comments came amid a backdrop of conflicts between Sony and Spider-Verse creators Phil Lord and Chris Miller.
The movie features Shameik Moore as Miles Morales, Hailee Steinfeld, Brian Tyree Henry, Lauren Vélez, Jake Johnson, Jason Schwartzman, Issa Rae, Karan Soni, Shea Whigham, Greta Lee, Daniel Kaluuya, Mahershala Ali, and Oscar Isaac, among others.
