Kunal Kamra Sparks Fresh Controversy After Posting Satirical ‘RSS Dog’ T-Shirt Photo
Comedian Kunal Kamra has once again stirred up a political storm, this time with an Instagram post.
On Monday, Kamra shared a photo of himself wearing a T-shirt featuring an illustrated dog lifting its leg to urinate at the letter “R” associated with the RSS.
He captioned the picture: “Not clicked at a comedy club.”
The post quickly went viral, with supporters calling it classic Kamra-style satire; however, some accused him of deliberately mocking the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh.

The T-shirt, now being widely referred to online as the “RSS Dog Shirt”, is being described by fans as a sharp piece of satire.
Kunal Kamra, known for his bold jibes at political establishments, has built his career on observational and political comedy. His work frequently touches on hyper-nationalism, public sentiment, and media narratives.

Since starting in 2013, Kamra has grown into one of India’s most outspoken comedians, running his hit talk show Shut Up Ya Kunal, where he engages politicians and activists from across the spectrum.
However, Kamra’s journey has also been marked by controversies, from his confrontation with Arnab Goswami on an IndiGo flight that led to an airline ban, to contempt of court petitions after his tweets criticising the Supreme Court, to multiple FIRs filed against him for his political jokes.
The comedian has repeatedly stated that satire is central to his art, and that he will not apologise for holding up a mirror to power. His latest Instagram post fits that pattern: pointed, provocative and unapologetically political.
