As promised, makers unveiled the first look poster of Mohanlal starrer L2E – Empuraan on Saturday. In the dark and grim background, fires burning the vehicles around, and a helicopter approaching forward, a man is seen, standing with his back turned with a machine gun in one hand. Mohanlal as Khureshi- Ab’raam is back.
The actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran sharing the poster on Instagram, and captioned: “3rd directorial. 2nd part of the franchise. 1st look.”

Empuraan is the second installment of 2019 celebrated Malayalam film Lucifer. The movie also marks the debut directorial of Mr Sukumaran. Lucifer has received amazing reception from the audience and touted as the first Malayalam film to enter Rs 200 crore club.
Lucifer narrates the journey of Stephen Nedumpally/Khureshi-Ab’raam and it is portrayed in all heroic appeal by Mohanlal. Since the announcement of the movie”s sequel, movie goers are eagerly waiting for each updates about the movie. The release of the first look poster has already created buzz on social media.
Empuraan is jointly bankrolled by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lyca Producation and it is Lyca”s first venture in Malayalam cinema. As per the reports, the sequel is planned to cater global audience”s interests as well.
The screen play for the movie is written by Murali Gopy. The movie is scheduled to release in 2024, and apart from Malayalam, Empuraan will be available in multiple languages including Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi.
