A star-studded glitzy ‘birthday bash’ to Mollywood’s best-loved super-cool multi-talented Prithviraj Sukumaran from his most beloved and prized team of Empuraan glistered on Monday. Prithviraj, who turned 41 now, is an astounding Indian actor who earned the title of first ever Rs 200 crore grossed Malayalam movie with his directorial debut Lucifer (2019). The Empuraan is a sequel to Lucifer, both featuring the versatile actor Mohanlal in the lead role.
The birthday video is a delightful handout from his own team of Empuraan who have organized selfie videos of the crew members, from technicians to actors, wishing their captain from the bottom of heart. The video begins with a beautiful musical note by Deepak Dev, the composer, and then move on to snippets from the shooting location in which Prithviraj is seen conducting the scenes and instructing the unit in an efficient manner – promising something big is on the way!
The video then presents producer Antony Perumbavoor who is seen wishing the actor adding to “take care of Empuraan”. It also encompasses writer Murali Gopy, most of the technical and other crew members and actors who are currently in schedule of filming, and made a wrap with the wishes from the big shot Mohanlal, “My dear brother Prithviraj, My Empuraan, Happy birthday… Many more returns of the day”.
The much-anticipated sequel to the political-thrilling-dramatic blockbuster, a Prithviraj-Murali Gopi-Mohanlal collaboration, has begun filming on October 5 this year and the team took their social media handles to share the news.
The snippet was presented by Mohanlal through his social media platforms, captioning “Happy Birthday, dearest Raju! Here’s to another year of amazing projects, great success, and personal growth! Keep doing what you love. God bless”. Aashirvad Cinemas, the company which produced Lucifer and partners with Lyca Productions in budgeting Empuraan, took the video to YouTube and described the ‘birthday man’ as the “multi-talented superstar”.
Empuraan is an admiringly anticipated Prithviraj movie as it presents the many major extraordinary talents of Mollywood as well as Indian cinema, along with a craft squad comprising some cardinal big shots of the regional industry including Mohanlal in the lead role, Murali Gopy in writing and Antony Perumbavoor engaged with production.
The sequel, L2-Empuraan (meaning lord of lord’s), is expected to release in 2024, and has a star-studded cast featuring Mohanlal (as Stephen Nedumpally/Khureshi-Ab’raam), Vivek Oberoi, Manju Warrier, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Saniya Iyappan, Sai Kumar, John Vijay, Sachin Khedekar, Baiju Santhosh, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Fazil, Suresh Chandra Menon, Nyla Usha and many more. The makers have already promised that the second installment would be a screen extravaganza of more big stars leading the movie to be a pan-world film.
