Bengali actress Sreelekha Mitra has come out with a serious accusation against this director, Ranjith. The actress disclosed that the director misbehaved with her when she came to act in Paleri Manikyam by Ranjith in 2009-10. However, the director denied the allegation as he said that he did not misbehave with the actress.

Paleri Manikyam features Mammootty as Ahmed Haji, Haridas, and Khalid Ahmed. The film tells the story of a private detective, who returns to his birthplace, a village called Paleri, to solve a murder mystery that occurred on the same night he was born. Upon the release of the movie, it got an ‘A’ certificate due to its violent and adult content.
