The Multiplex Association of India (MAI) will celebrate this year”s National Cinema Day on Friday, October 13. On that day, the movie tickets will go as low as Rs 99. Almost 4,000 cinema halls, including major chains like PVR, Inox, Cinepolis, Miraj, Citypride, Asian, Movie Time, WAVE, Delite, and others, will celebrate National Cinema Day on October 13. However, this exciting offer is not applicable to recliners and premium formats.
“This special occasion brings audiences of all ages together for a day of cinematic bliss, celebrating the incredible success of multiple films at the box office this year,” MAI wrote on X (formerly called as Twitter). The association also informed that there will be “exciting” offers on food and beverages as well. MIA said that additional details to offers on tickets as well as food and beverages will be revealed by the participating cinemas, on their websites and through their social media channels.
Tickets can be booked via online platforms by selecting a location, followed by the preferred movie and the October 13 date. The Multiplex Association (MAI) of India, a nationwide group of cinema operators, announced this decision to boost attendance at movie theaters. National Cinema Day was introduced in the country by MAI in 2022. The idea behind the celebration of this day was to reopen the cinemas after COVID-19 pandemic and receive moviegoers from across the country. Last year, the MAI offered movie tickets for just Rs 75.
