
Paradha Movie: Anupama Parameswaran, Darshana Rajendran’s Rare, Brave Telugu Drama Hits Theatres
Paradha, a Telugu-language comedy drama directed by Praveen Kandregula, released in theatres on Friday. Featuring Anupama Parameswaran, Darshana Rajendran in her Telugu debut, and Sangeetha Krish, the film has drawn attention for its unconventional storyline.
Produced by Ananda Media, the film has been released in both Telugu and a dubbed Malayalam version. Music is composed by Gopi Sundar, with cinematography by Mridul Sujit Sen and editing by Dharmendra Kakarala.

Set in a remote village governed by the belief that women must remain veiled to ward off a curse, the film follows Subbalakshmi (Anupama Parameswaran), whose devotion to tradition is questioned after an unforeseen incident.
Determined to clear her name, she embarks on a journey to the Himalayas, accompanied by her aunt Rathnamma (Sangeetha Krish) and Amishta “Ami” (Darshana Rajendran), a modern architect fighting her own battles.
Alongside the lead actors, the film features Rag Mayur, Harsha Vardhan, and Rajendra Prasad in supporting roles. The soundtrack album, released under Sony Music India, includes three singles — Maa Andhaala Siri, Yatra Naryasthu, and Yegareyi Nee Rekkale. Lyrics are by Vanamali.

The film has received positive early reviews. The Hindu described Paradha as a “rare, brave film that breaks the monotony of mainstream Telugu cinema”. The Times of India rated it 3.5/5, praising the writing, dialogues, and performances.
Director Praveen Kandregula, who co-wrote the film with Poojitha Sreekanti and Prahas Boppudi, has previously been noted for his independent work.
