Actor Anupama Parameswaran Reveals Two Years Of Narcissistic Abuse In Toxic Relationship
Actor Anupama Parameswaran has spoken candidly about a difficult chapter in her personal life, revealing that she endured two years of “narcissistic abuse” in a past relationship. The actor, who made her debut with Malayalam blockbuster Premam in 2015, disclosed how the relationship adversely impacted her mental and physical wellbeing.
The actor explained how she survived a difficult, two-year emotionally abusive and controlling relationship. Anupama compared her former partner’s unpredictable behavior to character shifts in the protagonist in Tamil movie Anniyan.
Known for films like Premam, Karthikeya 2 and Tillu Square, the actress shared her experience in an interview with Dhanya Varma. She chose not to name her former partner. The interview comes weeks after a series of ambiguous Instagram posts from Anupama sparked speculation about an alleged breakup. The actor had been widely rumored to be in a relationship with her Bison Kaalamaadan co-star Dhruv Vikram, though neither actor formally confirmed being together.
In the conversation, Anupama gave a detailed and emotional account of how the relationship impacted her. “There are two years of pain, physical and emotional destruction, behind that one post,” she told Dhanya Varma. She was referring to her social media note that read, “You have to let go of the dead end to finally find your peace.”
Anupama clarified that the relationship took a toll on her both physically and mentally. The actress said stepping away from the relationship was necessary for her healing and peace of mind. Fans and fellow actors have since flooded her comments with messages of support, praising her for speaking openly about a topic that is rarely discussed.
Anupama, who made her debut with Premam in 2015, continues to work across Malayalam, Telugu and Tamil cinema.
