'Phir Zinda—The Ballad of Retribution': Mohanlal's L2: Empuraan First Single Out
L2: Empuraan is here to storm the internet with the release of its first single. And it is evident that the whole internet will be echoing Phir Zinda from now on. With just 2 days left for the anticipated release, the makers of the sequel have unveiled the film’s anthem to welcome the entry of the majestic character, Abráam Khureshi.
The first single of L2: Empuraan, titled Phir Zinda—The Ballad of Retribution, is dropped by the makers today. The trailer of the sequel promised to offer a spectacular visual experience with a story that would storm minds. And it’s time for the makers to introduce the audience to the musical brilliance of the film.
With lyrics written by Tanishk Nabar and vocals by Anand Bhaskar, the makers have presented the first single that echoes the resilience of the characters, Khureshi Abráam and Zayed Mazood. This lyrical video features the characters of actors Mohanlal, Prithviraj, and Karthikeyaa Dev hinting at the bond and the retribution that the duo shares.

Written by Murali Gopy, Empuraan is the second installment in the Lucifer trilogy and is set to release in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Kannada.
Mohanlal reprises his role as Khureshi-Ab’raam/Stephen Nedumpally, while Prithviraj, Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, and Suraj Venjaramoodu lead a star-studded cast. British actor Jerome Flynn, best known for Game of Thrones, adds international appeal to the project. Several other prominent names are speculated to make an appearance in the film but the details are kept under wraps so far.
The first installment, Lucifer, ends with Jatin’s rise to power while Stephen Nedumpally reveals his true identity as Khureshi Ab’raam. His transformation was also marked by the shots of him shedding his white attire for Khureshi’s darker and more stylish dapper.

However, this sequel will explore more about the dark world of Lucifer, where politics, power, and action collide. It is also expected to delve into Stephen’s origins, exploring his youth and his connection to Zayed Masood and the Khureshi-Ab’raam nexus.
