Ranbir Kapoor To Lead 'Dhoom 4'; Aditya Chopra To Reboot The Franchise in 2025

The grand franchise Dhoom has been making headlines recently with the overwhelming anticipation over the next installment, and the casting of the new franchise is the talk of the town. And here is an update over the pre-production and the nearly confirmed lead of Dhoom 4.

As per Pinkvilla, Ranbir Kapoor will be headlining the fourth installment, Dhoom 4, as the lead. As a result of a long time discussion and the interest of the actor towards the acclaimed sequel on hearing the basic idea, Ranbir Kapoor is now the official lead of the upcoming sequel.  Aditya Chopra, the chairperson of Yash Raj Films (YRF) felt that Ranbir would be the ideal choice to carry the Dhoom legacy forward.

While Ranbir plays a negative shade in the upcoming sequel, it’s also speculated that none of the original actors will reprise their roles. The new installment is expected to be a a reboot. However, two big heroes from the younger generation is expected to be launched on board to play the iconic duo of cop buddies, previously played by Abhishek Bachchan and Uday Chopra.

Like all previous Dhoom scripts, the sequel will be developed by Aditya Chopra with Vijay Krishna Acharya. To provide a spectacular treat to the audience, the makers have been envisioning to create a cinematic experience like never before with Dhoom 4. Reportedly, YRF assured fans that the film will not just be the next Dhoom film but a tentpole feature film of global standard from Indian cinema.

As per reports, YRF will take the film on floor by the end of 2025 or early 2026, once Ranbir warps up shooting for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Love And War and the Nitesh Tiwari, Ravi Udyawar directorial Ramayana 1 & 2.

Interestingly, YRF is also looking to mount some of the biggest films of India in the coming five years with the likes of War 2, Alpha, Mardani 3, Pathaan 2, Tiger vs Pathaan, and Dhoom 4 under their banner.
