The highly anticipated mythological film Ramayana‘s first look is out, and it looks spectacular. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, the film stars Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Yash as Ravan, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Sunny Deol as Hanuman and Sai Pallavi as Sita.

In a unique move, the launch will take place simultaneously across nine major Indian cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, Pune, Kochi, and Bengaluru, with Hyderabad’s iconic Prasads Multiplex.

The film reportedly also stars Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari and Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi. The rest of the cast is under wraps for now.

The first look introduces the world ruled by the trinity – Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva – endangered by one being, which paved the way for “The War To End All Wars.” With spellbinding VFX, majestic landscapes and intricately designed characters, the first look gives a larger-than-life interpretation of the epic.

Introducing Yash as Ravana and Ranbir Kapoor as Ram in the last few seconds, the first look promises nothing short of a visual spectacle.

If the background music of the first look is anything to go by, then the timeless epic seems to accomplish the high expectations of the audience since legendary Hans Zimmer and AR Rahman join hands for the first time as composers.

The retelling of the ancient saga is aimed at both Indian and global audiences. Made on a grand scale, Ramayana reportedly surpasses the production cost of Kalki 2898 AD (Rs 600 crore), RRR and Adipurush (Rs 550 crore). The budget for the upcoming film is reportedly around Rs 835 crore. If true, then this will be the most expensive Indian film to date.
