The long-awaited animated film, “Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama,” has been rescheduled for release on January 24, 2025.
Initially slated for October 18, 2024, the movie’s release was announced by Bollywood actor-director Farhan Akhtar on Wednesday, one of the producers wrote on the X platform: “The wait is over. Experience India’s greatest epic in all its glory! Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama releasing on January 24, 2025, in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu in 4K experience. Trailer out in 2 days!”

This magnificent endeavour is seen as a remarkable collaboration between India and Japan, integrating animation styles from both nations.

Directed by Koichi Sasaki and Ram Mohan, the film is based on Valmiki‘s timeless epic, Ramayana. First released in 1992, this animated adaptation employs traditional Indian storytelling techniques, blended with Japanese anime methods. The movie’s hand-drawn animation retains its original charm, captivating both old and new fans.
The latest version of “Ramayana: The Legend of Prince Rama” boasts a screenplay by renowned writer V Vijayendra Prasad, celebrated for his work on blockbusters like Baahubali, Bajrangi Bhaijaan, and RRR.
Prasad earlier stated that the narrative remains faithful to the original while connecting with contemporary viewers.

The film will be released in multiple languages, including Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu which will further cater to a broad audience. Excel Entertainment, helmed by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani is distributing the movie.
