Thug Life Update: Promotions Resume With Renewed Trailer, Audio Launch Dates
Mani Ratnam and Kamal Haasan’s Thug Life is marching forward to create the next milestone achievement in cinema, especially among the Tamil audience. The promotional plans of the film were put on hold for a moment due to the country’s socio-political landscape following escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Following a ceasefire and calm at the border, Raajkamal Films has renewed the promotions with a fresh set of plans. Here is the complete schedule of Thug Life promotions.
Legendary director Mani Ratnam has brought some prominent names from Indian cinema including Kamal Haasan, STR, Trisha Krishnan, Abhirami, Nassar, Ali Fazal, Pankaj Tripathi, Sanya Malhotra, Aishwarya Lekshmi, and Rohit Saraf among others.

As the film is scheduled to hit the theatres on June 5, the makers unveiled their exciting promotional plans, which will be starting off with a much anticipated trailer launch.
As per the official announcement, the promotion plans of the film include the trailer launch and audio launch with a surprising performance by AR Rahman. The date and the venue of the upcoming milestones are listed below:
- Thug Life trailer launch: 5 pm, May 17, 2025.
- Thug Life audio launch: at Sairam College, Chennai, on May 24, 2025.
Moreover, the makers also announced a set of grand pre-release events planned in major cities of the country like Delhi, Bengaluru, Trivandrum, and Vizag. The international promotions will be launched in Malaysia and Dubai. Check out the schedule here:

While announcing the rescheduled promotional plans, the makers wrote, “We remain deeply grateful for the support, patience and understanding of our audience across the world. With renewed clarity and respect for the moment, we now resume the Thug Life journey.”

Initially, the audio launch was scheduled to happen on May 16 in Chennai. Due to escalating Indo-Pak tensions, the makers postponed the event, citing national sentiments across the country’s border. While announcing the postponement, the makers wrote, “As our soldiers stand firm on the frontlines with unflinching courage in defense of our motherland, I believe it is a time for quiet solidarity, not celebration.”
Jointly produced by Raaj Kamal Films International, Madras Talkies and Red Giant Movies, Thug Life is tipped to be an action gangster drama. Cinematographer Ravi K. Chandran and editor Sreekar Prasad are part of the technical team.
