Mysskin’s films usually explore the philosophies of life and humans. This time, the Psycho director has sketched a film inspired by his train journeys. While talking about the film at a recent event, he drew a poetic comparison with a train.
Reminiscing that he had travelled by train more than 600 times, the director shared that every time he saw the train as a monstrous worm carrying children in its belly, crawling across the land and releasing them safely at each stop. The metaphorical thought paved the way for the theme of the film Train.
While observing that some reach their destination safely, he also added that a few lose their lives during the journey.
The Plot
Connecting this comparison with the film, the director revealed interesting elements about his upcoming film. As per the director, the protagonist played by Vijay Sethupathi boards a train with a heavy heart, having lost all hope in life. His mission is to reach his late wife’s grave and plant a sapling there before he ends his life.
However, an unexpected turn of events on the journey gives him a new perspective towards life.
The Meaningful Climax
Mysskin further added that by the end of the journey, the character reflects on how boarding that train altered his destiny and refreshed his life. The emotional climax of the film offers a realisation that the train journey has not taken him to a different place but to a different life.
