Ranveer Singh Rejected Kabir Singh Because "It Was Too Dark", Says Sandeep Reddy Vanga

Shahid Kapoor starrer Kabir Singh was a blockbuster. The movie, which was a remake of Arjun Reddy was Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s directorial debut. In an interview, the director revealed that the first choice of the movie was Ranveer Singh.

But the Rani Aur Rocky Ki Prem Kahani star rejected Kabir Singh saying the plot to be “too dark”, said Mr. Vanga during an interview. In his interview with iDream Media, he revealed that he approached Mahesh Babu for second movie, after Arjun Reddy became a huge success. But due to tight schedule, the star could not do sign another movie, so Mr. Vanga turned to Bollywood.

In the interview he said, “I was continuously getting calls from Mumbai to do the remake. First, it was pitched to Ranveer Singh. I wanted to do it with him. But finally he decided he will not do it, because it was too dark for him at that time”.

Like Arjun Reddy, Kabir Singh was also a blockbuster. The movie has garnered Rs. 380 crores globally. The movie also featured Kiara Advani. Sandeep Reddy Vanga is now gearing up for his next movie Animal, which is slated to hit theatres on December 1. The movie have the star cast that include Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol.
