The controversy began when Ranveer, while speaking on stage at the closing ceremony, praised actor Rishab Shetty for his performance in Kantara Chapter 1.
Ranveer then tried to imitate Rishab’s famous chant from the film. During the act, Ranveer also referred to the female deity in the story as a “ghost,” which shocked many people in the audience.
Dear @RanveerOfficial you don’t know the difference between God and Ghost ….🤦🤦🤦

His comments quickly spread online and triggered a strong reaction, especially from Kannada viewers.
For the last few days, there have been loud demands for a public apology. Many people in Karnataka even warned that they would boycott or ban Dhurandhar if Ranveer did not apologise.
A formal complaint was also filed against Ranveer for allegedly hurting the religious sentiments of Hindu devotees. As the controversy grew bigger, pressure increased on the actor to respond.
Finally, earlier today, Ranveer Singh posted a note on Instagram Stories.
