Rashmika Mandanna Warns Legal Action After Old Audio On Rakshit Shetty Breakup Resurfaces

Actor Rashmika Mandanna has issued a strong warning of legal action after an alleged old audio clip involving her mother began circulating widely on social media, sparking fresh discussion about the actress’s past relationship with Rakshit Shetty.

The controversy surfaced just weeks after Rashmika’s reported marriage to Vijay Deverakonda on February 26.

The viral clip is said to feature Rashmika’s mother, Suman Mandanna, speaking about the actress’s past engagement and the circumstances that led to the breakup.

According to reports, the audio is not recent but comes from an interview Suman Mandanna gave nearly eight years ago to a Kannada news channel. In the interview, she reportedly spoke about tensions between the two families during Rashmika’s engagement with Rakshit.

Rashmika and Rakshit first met while working on the 2016 Kannada blockbuster Kirik Party. Their on-screen collaboration quickly turned into a real-life romance, and the couple got engaged in 2017.

However, the engagement ended in 2018 after both actors announced that they had mutually decided to part ways.

In the resurfaced interview clip, Suman Mandanna allegedly spoke about disagreements that occurred during that period. She claimed that the family had initially agreed to the relationship even though Rashmika was young at the time. According to her account, arguments later emerged between the two families.

She also alleged that Rakshit sometimes created issues over small matters and attempted to influence Rashmika’s professional choices.

One of the claims in the interview suggested that when Rashmika received an offer for the film Geetha Govindam, she was allegedly pressured to post on social media that she would quit acting after marriage.

Suman Mandanna also recalled an incident she described as distressing. She claimed that on the eve of the film’s release, Rakshit and his manager allegedly called Rashmika late at night, asking her to travel from Hyderabad to Bengaluru immediately to meet him.

Parts of the interview reportedly include Suman speaking emotionally about the situation and the tensions that arose between both families at the time. She also questioned why she was asked to apologise despite believing that her daughter had done nothing wrong.

As the clip began circulating widely online in recent days, Rashmika Mandanna released a detailed statement addressing the issue and urging people to stop sharing the content.

In her statement, the actress said that for the past eight years she has faced what she described as misinformation, harassment and targeted attacks online. She stated that many of her words had been taken out of context, and false narratives had been created for views and engagement.

Rashmika said she had remained silent for years despite the criticism, believing that being in the public eye sometimes comes with unfair scrutiny. However, she said the recent circulation of the audio crossed a line.

The actor explained that the audio appeared to be from a private conversation recorded nearly eight years ago and was now being shared without the consent or knowledge of those involved.

She also alleged that only a small portion of the conversation was being circulated, which created a misleading narrative.

Rashmika further expressed concern that the controversy had dragged her family and other people into the matter unnecessarily. She described the circulation of the clip as a serious invasion of privacy and the spread of defamatory material.

Drawing a clear boundary, the actress requested that all media platforms, influencers and individuals who were sharing the clip remove it immediately.

Rashmika also warned that if the content continues to circulate, she will initiate legal action. She gave a 24-hour deadline for the removal of the clip and said legal notices would be issued to individuals, influencers, digital platforms or media organisations that continue to share the material.

She emphasised that the decision to pursue legal action was not taken lightly but had become necessary to protect her privacy and dignity.

The actress concluded her statement by urging people to respect personal boundaries and avoid spreading content that could harm others.
