The official title Karuppu was revealed in June 2025 on RJ Balaji’s birthday. Principal photography began in Pollachi in November 2024 and continued across Coimbatore, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Ramoji Film City before wrapping in early 2026.

The film features cinematography by G. K. Vishnu, editing by R. Kalaivanan, production design by Arun Venjaramoodu, and action choreography by Vikram Mor. Music is composed by Sai Abhyankkar, whose soundtrack has already become a major hit among fans.

Songs like “God Mode,” “Naanga Naalu Peru,” “Raathu Raasan,” and “Verappa Extended” created huge buzz before release.

The first teaser, released on Suriya’s birthday in July 2025, introduced his intense lawyer avatar and featured references to his iconic earlier films, creating excitement across social media.

The makers later launched the theatrical trailer during an IPL match between Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow Super Giants, further boosting anticipation.

Karuppu was originally planned as a Diwali 2025 release but was postponed due to post-production work before finally locking May 14, 2026, as its worldwide release date. The Telugu dubbed version has been released under the title Veerabhadrudu.

Distributed by Sakthi Film Factory in Tamil Nadu, the film also has major distribution support across Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, North India, and international markets. Zee Tamil has acquired the satellite rights.
