Get ready to witness the final chapter of the deadly game. The most awaited announcement about the third season of the Korean thriller, Squid Game, is out. Netflix is all set to launch the next level of the game this June.
As fans were left wondering whether they have to wait for another two years for its next installment, Netflix has put an end to all speculations by announcing the release date. The third season of the Emmy Award-winning series will drop on June 27, 2025.
This aligns with the release date Netflix had accidentally announced in a promotional video uploaded on YouTube in 2024. The announcement comes with the signature black and pink casket that represents the death that awaits. The poster shows a pink guard pulling what looks like a dead contestant to the coffin. But this time, the floor’s background is a sea of painted flowers.

Picking up where Season 2 left off, Season 3 explores the choices Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) will make amid “overwhelming despair.” As the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) plots his next move, the surviving players find their decisions leading to increasingly dire consequences with each round of the deadly games. Netflix said. “This season promises to push the limits of suspense and drama, keeping viewers glued to the action.”
About the intriguing flower-patterned floor, Netflix said, “Gone is the rainbow-hued track of Season 2’s six-legged pentathlon; in its place, a vividly swirling flower-patterned floor ominously foreshadows the cutthroat finale to come.”
Moreover, Netflix also intensified the curiosity of fans with the first looks of season 3. Three photographs show close-ups of Gi-hun, the Pink Guard Kang No-eul, and the Front Man. There is also a picture of the contestants, including In-ho, who is actually the Front Man, kneeling over a coffin. They are probably mourning the death of Gi-hun’s friend Jung-bae, who was killed by none other than the Front Man.

Regarding the plot, the streaming platform revealed, “The sinister silhouettes of Young-hee and her companion Cheol-su—first hinted in last season’s post-credit scene—suggest that even more brutal games lie ahead.”
Season 3 might take off from Gi-hun after his best friend Jung-bae’s death. Created, written, and directed by Hwang Dong-hyuk, Squid Game will be back to continue the twisted plot that will decide the fate of the players.
Just like the previous season, this new installment will raise the same question that echoes in the viewer’s mind: Will he be able to stop the deadly games? Will the Front Man and his wealthy backers succeed? The final season will decide who lives and dies, once and for all.
