Actor Silambarasan TR is set to collaborate with actor-comedian Santhanam in his upcoming film with the Parking fame director Ramkumar Balakrishnan, tentatively titled STR 49.

Actor-singer STR announced a series of his upcoming films with renowned directors on his birthday, February 3. The actor, who is all packed to offer back-to-back exciting entertainers, announced his 49th film with director Ramkumar, his 50th film with Desingh Periyaswamy and his 51st film with Ashwath Marimuthu.

Since then, his fans have been waiting for further updates on his projects. And finally, here is an exciting update about STR 49. Get ready for a hilarious ride as actor-comedian Santhanam teams up with STR in the Ramkumar Balakrishnan directorial.

Moreover, as an add-on to the excitement, the team has officially begun shooting the film, as per the report from Indiaglitz. This update of the film has also raised curiosity among the fans because actor Santhanam, who has been extensively focusing on lead roles, will be returning to his comedy-entertaining genre through this film.

The duo Santhanam and Simbu were known for their humor, especially around the portrayal of friendship. Simbu and Santhanam have worked in films including Manmadhan, Vallavan, Vaalu and Osthe. Simbu also played a cameo in Santhanam’s Kanna Laddu Thinna Aasaiya.

Reportedly, STR 59  revolves around students with college as its backdrop. In this film, the Thug Life actor will be portraying the role of an engineering student. In the firstlook poster, the actor was seen holding a knife hidden inside a book. Adding a description about the character, the poster reads, “The Most WANTED Student.” As per the reports, young composer Sai Abhyankar has been roped in to compose music. The makers are currently working on the film’s casting.

Silambarasan will be seen next in director Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life, which will release in theaters on June 10. His 50th film is directed by Desingh Periasamy, while his 51st film will be directed by Ashwath Marimuthu.
