The controversy around the mysterious death of Disha Salian, the former manager of Sushant Singh Rajput, has reemerged after 5 years. Satish Salian, the father of Disha, has moved the Bombay High Court seeking a fresh investigation. And here is all you need to know about the death and the mysteries around Disha Salian.
The petition filed by Salian urged the court to order the registration of an FIR against Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aditya Thackeray and the transfer of the probe to the CBI. As per the reports, Nilesh Ojha, Satish’s lawyer, said that they were still in the process of filing the petition and would get it numbered at the HC registry department on Thursday.

A Politically Motivated “Cover-Up”?
In the petition, Satish alleged that Disha was brutally raped and murdered. He also claimed that there was a politically orchestrated cover-up to protect certain influential figures.
Further, he alleged that the Mumbai police had hastily closed the death as a case of suicide or accidental death without taking the forensic evidence, circumstantial proof and eyewitness testimonies into account.
Shiv Sena (UBT) Reacts to Satish’s Plea.
Shiv Sena (UBT) spokesperson and former Mumbai mayor, Kishori Pednekar, reacted to the plea by questioning why the matter was being raised after more than four years. He also alleged that someone was behind the “conspiracy.” Pednekar added that a CID inquiry was already conducted in the case.
However, BJP minister Nitesh Rane demanded that Aditya Thackeray “speak the truth” and step down as an MLA to face the investigation. He also alleged how visitor registration pages had been pulled out and important evidence, including CCTV footage from Disha’s building, had been destroyed.

The mysterious death of Disha Salian
On the night of June 8, 2020, Disha was partying with her friends and fiancé in her residence in suburban Malad. In the evening, she was seen expressing her emotional distress to her friends, saying, “No one cares for anyone anymore.” According to her friends, Disha would often become emotional after drinking.
On this particular night, Disha locked herself in a room crying. Hearing the sound of a running tap, her friends thought that she was throwing up after drinking. A few moments later, when she didn’t respond to their calls, her friends broke the door. Disha was found fallen from her balcony.
Reportedly, Disha was still alive when her friends found her, but she was declared dead by the time they reached the hospital. Despite the attempts to take her to multiple hospitals, all but one refused to admit her. The city police had then registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) case.
Disha’s Death Linked to Sushant Singh Rajput?
Disha’s death has long been linked, in public discourse, to actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, which occurred six days later on June 14, 2020. While Sushant’s case was handed over to the CBI, Disha’s case was not. Since no substantial evidence of a connection has been found, these claims have been dismissed.
