Here is a surprise for the fairytale fans, Disney to bring life to the musical adventure fantasy story, Tangled. Over a decade after it hit the big screens, Disney has announced that the film will soon get a live action treatment. The animated classic is set to helm by The Greatest Showman fame director Michael Gracey.
As we are in the era of witnessing the heartwarming fairytales getting life on big screens, it’s time for the revival of the Oscar nominated 2010 animated film. Although the details over the development of the Rapunzel fairy tale are still under wraps, it is expected to follow along the line of it’s animated version.

Since the film is set to be helmed by the Greatest Showman director, internet is now buzzing about the possible cast of the film. Bring back the nostalgia, the clips from the fantasy adventure is spreading wings all over the social media platforms.
Tangled tells the tale of Rapunzel, a princess (voiced by Mandy Moore) who is eventually rescued from her secluded tower by an outlaw named Flynn Rider.
The original movie was directed by the duo Nathan Greno and Byron Howard. The voices of Mandy Moore, Zachary Levi, and Donna Murphy breathed life to the characters of the film. Made with an estimated budget of $260 million, Tangled is one of the most expensive animated feature film ever made and one of the most expensive films of all time.

Released as a Children’s day treat on November 14, 2010, the film earned $592 million worldwide. The film was nominated for a number of awards, including Best Original Song at the 83rd Academy Awards. Years after its release, Disney also surprised the Tangled fans in 2012 by releasing a short film titled, Tangled Ever After.
Disney has given numerous animated films the live-action treatment — including The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Mulan, Dumbo and The Little Mermaid — to varying degrees of commercial success. Up next, Snow White and Lilo & Stitch will open in theaters in 2025 while Moana, starring Dwayne Johnson as the tattooed demigod Maui, is set for 2026.
