Actress Triptii Dimri, who was set to reunite with her Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 co-star Kartik Aaryan in the upcoming sequel Aashiqui 3, is no longer part of the project. Fans are both disappointed and curious to know the reason behind the withdrawal of the actress from the project.
There are two aspects to this shocking turn of events. According to initial reports, the actress voluntarily left the project due to a delay in the shoot, as the makers had postponed the production due to an ongoing title-related dispute.

However, later it was revealed that it could not be the possible reason for the withdrawal. As per reports, it was informed that the makers of Aashiqui 3, set to be directed by Anurag Basu, have decided not to opt the actress after her initial look test. But why?
It’s because the makers felt that the actress would not be the perfect choice for the character. Moreover, the makers feel that the fundamental requirement to be the heroine of Aashiqui 3 is innocence reflecting through. But as per the observation, the team felt that Triptii, with her recent films, had become too exposed to be cast in this romantic film, which demanded “purity in demeanor” from the female lead.
Reports also claim that the shift in the image of the actress, post-Animal, would be one of the reasons for this result.

Neither the Bad Newz actress nor the makers of Aashiqui 3 have released an official statement on the matter yet. The internet also speculated that both the factors are the reason for the actor not wanting to wait and the makers looking for a ‘fresher’ face now. When Triptii was cast, she was a relative newcomer, but the delay in shooting has led her to feature in two more films.
Aashiqui 3 was initially supposed to be co-produced by Bhushan Kumar and Mukesh Bhatt. In March 2024, Bhushan Kumar announced that he was producing the film alone and had it rechristened Tu Aashiqui Hai. However, reports in November claimed that Kartik was keen on having it as part of the Aashiqui franchise. All this led to a delay in the production.
