Today marks the first death anniversary of the beloved actor Matthew Perry, known for his role Chandler Bing from the popular sitcom Friends. The actor, who died on October 29 last year, is widely remembered by his fans and his beloved ones from all over the world today.

Actress Courteney Cox, who played Monica, Chandler’s love interest, also paid her tributes, posting a vintage photo of herself with Matthew alongside other cast mates. In a heartfelt gesture, she wrote, “Missing you today and always, @matthewperryfoundation.”

In a new issue of People, Matthew’s stepfather Keith Morrison revealed that the actor’s “dying wish” was that people remember him “for helping other people, more than his famousness for Friends. That has now become our mission in life is to carry that wish on.”

Matthew Perry passed away on 29 October 2023, due to an overdose of the anaesthetic ketamine. The investigations into Perry’s death revealed a broad underground criminal network linked to his use of ketamine, which ultimately contributed to his demise. Following this, five individuals were arrested in connection with the case.

The American television sitcom Friends aired on NBC from September 22, 1994, to May 6, 2004, and includes ten seasons with 237 episodes. With an ensemble cast including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, Matthew Perry, and David Schwimmer, the show revolves around six friends in their 20s and early 30s who live in Manhattan, New York City.
