Vaibhavi Merchant; Salman Khan Is "Easy But Not Laid back", Shah Rukh Khan Is "An Ambidextrous"

Vaibhavi Merchant, Bollywood choreographer holds unique experience of having worked with B-Town’s biggies. Last year alone, she has worked with stars like Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif. In a recent interview she revealed what it will be like to work with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan together. She said it’s “going to be mayhem”.

She has worked with Shah Rukh Khan and Salman Khan together in YRF’s Spy Universe Projects like Pathaan and Tiger 3. In an interview with Zoom Entertainment she said that Salman Khan is a relaxed person where as Shah Rukh khan, who has convinced himself to be a bad dancer works extra hard to deliver good outcomes.

She described Salman Khan as ‘easy but not laid back’ and said that he is focused on getting the job done.  When talking about Shah Rukh Khan, she said “whereas Shah Rukh, I feel, is an ambidextrous human being…he is of another level. You pull him from a scene of a song to action, and without breaking the code he will go from one to the next”. She continued about the “Baadshah” as “made of a genius cloth”.

When talking about B-Town’s “bhai jaan”, she said “he’s a hustler. He’s doing all that also, but he’s not making you feel like he’s coming from a (different land). You’ll feel he’s not there, but he’s there”.

Vaibhavi Merchant started her career as a choreographer with the song Dhol Baaje, from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam in 1999, for which she won National Film Award for Best Choreography. She also garnered several awards for Kajra Re from Bunty Aur Bubli. Ms. Merchant has also worked in selected movies like Devdas, Fida, Dhoom and its sequels, Veer Zara, Aaja Nachle and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.
