What Did Mammootty Say About Empuraan Teaser?
On Sunday, a major milestone has marked in the Malayalam film industry with the unveiling of the teaser for ‘L2: Empuraan‘, a trilogy to the critically acclaimed ‘Lucifer‘.
The grand teaser launch event held in Kochi was attended by a plethora of Malayalam actors, including Mammooty.
Mega star Mammooty extolled the film during the teaser launch remarking, “This is going to be a small but big film and I didn’t expect a small film like this from Prithvi.”
Helmed by the actor director Prithviraj Sukumaran, ‘L2: Empuraan‘ sees the superstar Mohanlal reprising his role as Stephen Nedumbally, also known as Abraam Qureshi.
The teaser, spanning two minutes and twenty-three seconds is a visually stunning yet slowly revealing, woven with high voltage action sequences and subtle allusions to the movie’s narrative.
Mohanlal’s portrayal of the eternal conflict between “evil and evil” showcased a trifle of Abraam Qureshi’s mission, while Tovino Thomas’s character, Jathin Ramdas makes a striking appearance and will be seen in a full-length role in Empuraan.
Followed by the blockbuster success of the 2019 film, Lucifer, L2: Empuraan was announced in October 2023. Exploring politics, crime, and power dynamics, the film was shot in about 20 foreign countries, including the UK, the US, and Russia. The production of the film was wrapped in December last year.

Previously, the makers shared the poster of Prithviraj’s look as Zayed Masood. He will be repising his role as the confidante of Mohanlal’s Khureshi Abraam. It is said that Prithviraj will have longer screen time in the sequel.
L2: Empuraan, the second installment of the planned trilogy, boasts a stellar cast with actors Mohanlal, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Shashi Kapoor, Indrajith, Baiju Santosh, Prithviraj, and Saniya Iyyappan. One of the most anticipated films, L2: Empuraan, is set to hit theatres on March 27, 2025.
