Mumbai Imposes Strict Pollution Control Curbs As Air Quality Deteriorates Severely
Mumbai, Maharashtra: Parts of Mumbai have enforced strict pollution control restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan or GRAP 4. The air quality in the city had dropped to very poor recently in the country’s financial capital.
The areas that would see pollution control restrictions include Mazgaon, Deonar, Malad, Borivali East, Chakala-Andheri East, Navy Nagar, Powai, and Mulund.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation, has halted construction and dust-generating activities in the mentioned specific areas. The authorities have instructed small businesses including bakeries and marble-cutting units to shift to cleaner processes to avoid action.
In addition, the civic authorities have deployed flying squads in every ward to enforce pollution control measures and monitor emissions. The squad includes engineers, police personnel and GPS-tracked vehicles and are scanning areas for polluting activities.
