Gas Explosions: Fire Erupts At Under-Construction Dharavi PAP Labour Camp In Mulund East
Mulund East, Mumbai: A fire erupted at a ground-plus-one workers’ shed or labour camp at the under-construction Dharavi Project Affected Persons (PAP) site in Mumbai’s Mulund East on Thursday, October 8.
The incident took place at Tata Nagar, Navghar Road when multiple gas cylinders exploded. At least seven cylinders reported to have burst, according to reports.

Mumbai Fire Brigade responded at 1:54 pm, along with police, MSEB, ward staff, and ambulance, evacuating all workers with no injuries or casualties reported. Firefighting operations have successfully controlled the blaze.
At least 15 fire engines, along with ambulances and personnel from Navghar police station, reportedly reached the spot to carry out firefighting and emergency response operations.

The labour camp was established to accommodate construction workers employed at the BMC PAP project. Thousands of labourers were staying at the facility. As per the deputy commissioner of police, all the occupants were safety evacuated.
