Chartered Accountant by profession and travel influencer by passion, the lens of  27-year-old Aanvi Kamdar  explored the world in all possible ways, filling colors to her Instagram feed until July 16. On the mission to cover one of the weekend travel destinations in monsoon, a tragic incident took her life last Tuesday.

The young girl’s passion for exploring tragically ended in Maharashtra’s Raigad, where she fell into a gorge. Since news of her death surfaced, her comment section flooded with condolences from her followers.

Exploring popular and unpopular destinations and providing travel ideas, Aanvi has been filling her travel journals with her informative reels and shots on social media.

The tragic incident occurred when the social media influencer was recording a reel as part of a monsoon outing with seven friends for her Instagram page “theglocaljournal.” She accidentally fell into a 300-foot-deep gorge near the famous Kumbhe waterfall at Mangao. Her friends alerted the police and the fire and rescue team, who immediately jumped into action. Following a 6-hour rescue operation, Aanvi was brought out from the gorge. Her body was flown to a nearby health facility before she breathed her last during the treatment session due to severe injuries sustained because of the fall.

Heartbreakingly, she had posted a video two days back. Here is the travel journal, that the young traveler has covered so far.

Being a travel enthusiastic, the young traveler shared ideas on destinations in India like Udaipur, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. She did not stop there. She spread her wings and even flew abroad to capture exciting travel destinations such as Sri Lanka, Turkey, Azerbaijan and so on.

Aanvi’s videos are not just pictures of exotic locations and famous travel destinations. The young traveler journaled her journey as a piece of useful information to her followers, sharing information on cost, tricks, hacks, and accommodation, providing a complete travel guide.

Before becoming a travel enthusiast, she worked as a Chartered Accountant at Deloitte for a period of five and half years, serving as an intern for three and then becoming CA for two years working in start-up valuations. Then she made her shift to LinkedIn and pursued her career as an Associate Community Manager.

And just four days ago, the influencer shared her first-ever collaboration journey to Ladakh. Reminiscing her travel experience with a media house, she wrote, “It was a time when I didn’t care about “what works content-wise” and just focused on being in the moment.” This note from her reflects more than content, the young traveler had enjoyed her exciting moments, meeting people and experiencing the process.

Even though people in the comment section are complaining about the crazy reel trends, some netizens paid their tribute to Aanvi Kamdar, showing respect for her travels, and efforts and providing good content, normalizing it as an accident that happened to a traveler, more than being nosy about the reel culture.
