Kochi, Kerala: Kerala police on Sunday registered a case against Youtuber and vlogger Thoppi, also known as Muhammad Nihad, for allegedly posting obscene videos featuring his friends on social media.
The video Thoppi posted on social media featuring his friends contained obscene scenes. The police launched the case after a preliminary inquiry on a complaint filed by advocate Sreejith Perumana on Saturday.

Thoppi, who runs multiple YouTube channels, had also shared the controversial content through his Instagram accounts. The Ernakulam Rural Cyber Police registered the case and launched an investigation into the matter.
The allegations recently surfaced that he had posted obscene videos featuring his friends on his YouTube channel and other social media, according to the police. The complainant later submitted a petition to Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala and the police, prompting a preliminary inquiry, officials said.

Police pointed out that most of Thoppi’s viewers were teenagers and that he constantly used offensive language in his videos. Statements by Thoppi’s friends were also recorded as part of the preliminary inquiry, following which the case was registered, the officer said. A police officer attached to the Cyber Police Station said investigators examined the social media accounts and confirmed that he had posted obscene videos.
In April last year, police had booked Thoppi for allegedly threatening a private bus crew by pointing an air gun at them near Vadakara in Kozhikode district.
