At Least 25 Killed As Private Bus En Route To Bengaluru Catches Fire In Kurnool
Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh: In a tragic incident, a private bus traveling from Hyderabad to Bengaluru caught fire, near Chinna Tekur (Chinnatekur) in Kurnool district, on Friday morning.
There were 42 passengers on board the private sleeper coach. While 12 managed to escape, at least 25 were burnt alive. The bus caught fire reportedly after a collision with a bike at around 3 am. The exact number of casualties is yet to be confirmed by the concerned authorities. Several other injured in the accident were admitted in a local hospital in Kurnool.

The bus was gutted before fire tenders could control the blaze. Both the driver and the bus cleaner went missing immediately after the accident, according to the police.
Following the incident, fire tenders and police teams reached the spot and launched a rescue operation. The bus was completely gutted in flames, and the injured were shifted to Kurnool government hospital.

Police have registered a case and are investigating. Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy conveyed condolences to the families of the deceased. He directed State officials to coordinate with Andhra Pradesh authorities and take necessary relief measures
