7 Daily-Wage Workers Killed In Massive Rock Collapse At Bengaluru Stone Quarry
Bengaluru, Karnataka: At least seven daily-wage labourers lost their lives after a massive rock collapsed at a stone quarry in Bengaluru on Thursday, July 2.
The accident took place at stone crusher site in Madapattana in Bengaluru South Taluk. The workers were engaged in quarrying operations when huge rocks collapsed upon them, leading to their tragic deaths.

As per the preliminary reports, the workers were engaged in excavation inside the quarry when the massive rock suddenly gave way and fell on them. The victims are believed to be migrant workers from Bihar and Assam.
The victims were trapped under the fallen boulder and died on the spot, police said. Rescue teams and police personnel rushed to the site soon after the collapse and launched rescue operations. Officials are trying to clear the debris and ascertain the exact number of casualties.
Several other workers were also sustained injuries in the tragedy. The injured have been shifted to a private hospital for treatment.
