Bengaluru Woman Murdered: Over 50 Pieces Of The Body Found In Fridge

The prime suspect of the Bengaluru woman murder was identified two days after, more than 20 pieces of her body found inside a refrigerator. The Bengaluru police commissioner has informed that the team is making efforts to arrest him.

While speaking to the reporters, the police commissioner said that he cannot reveal more details of the investigation and added that the suspect is an outsider. Moreover the official also informed that it is being investigated in all angles and providing more information about the suspect will help the accused.

Earlier today, the Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara said that the police have collected a lot of information and clues and revealed “One individual has also been… Unless we collect more information, we can’t really say. He is from West Bengal, they say,” quoted by NDTV.

Responding to the question on the state government’s steps to enhance women’s safety, the minister said that they have already taken a lot of precautions for women’s safety and are very mindful about it.

This murder of the woman named Mahalakshmi sent shock waves to the public, as thirty odd pieces of her body were found in the fridge of her Bengaluru home on Saturday. Mahalakshmi, who worked as a team leader in a costume outlet, used to live in a rented one-bedroom apartment in Bengaluru’s Vyalikaval area. She was married but was separated from her husband Hemant Das due to domestic disputes.

The murder came into light when the landlord informef Mahalaskshmi’s mother about the foul smell from the house. A police team, a dog squad and forensic experts visited the house and revealed the woman was allegedly murdered nearly five days before her body was found.

The police said they found a blue suitcase near the fridge in which the woman’s body was found in pieces. With the recovery of the suitcase, the police were probing if the assailant wanted to move the body out of the place, or if the same was transported from elsewhere. Meanwhile, the post-mortem of the woman was conducted and its report was awaited.

During the investigation it was found that earlier Mahalakshmi filed a compliant against her husband claiming that he assaulted her. Meanwhile, Das also filed a complaint against her, saying she was having an affair with another man. The police had taken a Non-Cognisable Report (NCR) and their family members had tried to defuse the fight between the couple.
