Biren Singh Asks Mizoram's Laduhoma To Say Out Of Manipur's Internal Matter

N Biren Singh, the Manipur Chief Minister asked the newly elected Chief Minister of Mizoram, Lalduhoma, “not to interfere with Manipur’s internal matter”. Lalduhoma responded about the incident and said that he never talked with the Manipur Chief Minister.

While talking to the media on the occasion of state-level Nupi Lan Day, the day that was observed as an honour to all the brave Imas (mothers) who battled against the autocratic policies of the British in Manipur during two Nup Lan occassions (women uprisings), Mr. Biren said “I have seen one comment from him (Laduhoma) that the state (Manipur) police should not harass his people in Moreh. It is a little beyond the constitution because it is an internal matter of the Manipur state government”.

Moreh is situated in the Tengnoupal district of Manipur. The place has seen violence since the beginning of the ethnic conflict in Manipur that started on May 3 this year. The Manipur CM said, as they have their own state, whatever is happening inside Manipur in an internal matter of the state.

He added that many communities are residing in Moreh, “they cannot can take it as a community’s area”. He further added that the Mizoram CM does not anything that is happening in Manipur. He said he never commented on the Bru controversy that took place in Mizoram.

Lalduhoma responded to the comment and said that he never talked with the Manipur Chief Minister. He said, “I have never talked with the Manipur Chief Minister. I have also not said anything in regard to what Biren Singh said about a statement about the Manipur police and the people of Moreh”, as quoted by Times of India.
